A 22-year-old man has been charged in the shootings at a Houston-area community college campus that left him and two others wounded.
A statement from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office identifies the suspect as Carlton Berry. Spokesman Alan Bernstein says Berry is charged with aggravated assault but remains hospitalized with wounds suffered in the shooting.
Dallas Cowboys player killed in accident; teammate charged
Dallas Cowboys practice-squad linebacker Jerry Brown was killed in a one-car accident early Saturday morning. Teammate Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Planned Parenthood sues Texas again over abortion funding
Planned Parenthood is suing to void a Texas law that blocks public funds for affiliates of abortion providers, saying the measure will cost the state almost $200 million in federal health-care funding for poor women
Today’s complaint in state court in Austin follows yesterday’s statement by Texas Governor Rick Perry that he will immediately move to cut off funding for Planned Parenthood after a federal appeals court refused to intervene.
Dallas Morning News: The mayor of Dallas, Texas, has declared a state of emergency over the spread of the West Nile virus. He is requesting that the county and state provide aerial pesticide spraying in the city to control mosquitoes spreading the virus.
Ten have died from the virus in Dallas County. The city has seen 111 reported infections that resulted in 65 hospitalizations.
Texas airport evacuated, flights grounded due to bomb threat
Both terminals at the airport in San Antonio, Texas, have been evacuated and all flights grounded because of a ‘very specific’ bomb threat, WOAI-TV reports.
