BREAKING: Ohio kidnapper Ariel Castro found dead in prison cell

AP: Ariel Castro, who held three women captive in his home for nearly a decade, has committed suicide, Ohio corrections officials say. A spokeswoman says Castro was found hanging in his state prison facility cell at about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Medical staff performed CPR before he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Ohio man charged with kidnap, rape as women found

AP: Authorities have announced that they have filed kidnapping and rape charges against a Cleveland man arrested after three women missing for about a decade were found at his home on Monday.

Homeowner Ariel Castro has been charged, while his brothers Pedro and Onil Castro are being held. The brothers face no charges at this time.

Amish beard-cutting ringleader sentenced to 15 years in prison

Amish bishop Samuel Mullet has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for masterminding a series of beard- and hair-shearing attacks against perceived enemies of his breakaway sect, The Plain Dealer reports.

Fifteen of Mullet’s followers, including three of his sons, also received shorter prison terms for the attacks, which the U.S. Justice Department prosecuted as federal hate crimes.

Rare baseball cards found in Ohio could be worth millions

AP reports: A family in Ohio has discovered a cache of extremely rare baseball cards issued around 1910, including cards for Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Cy Young and Honus Wagner. Experts say it is “one of the biggest, most exciting finds in the history of sports card collecting, a discovery probably worth millions.”
