FDA will require food industry to phase out trans fats
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration plans to announce today that it will require the food industry to gradually phase out all trans fats, saying they are a threat to people’s health. Read more fromThe Associated Press.
The Walt Disney Company says it will be enacting several new regulations in order to promote healthy eating habits. The regulations include banning ads on Disney’s child-focused TV channels (including Saturday morning cartoons), radio stations and websites for foods that do not meet nutritional standards, which CBS News reports will be released later today.

Radiation from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant found in US tuna
AP: New research has found increased levels of radiation in Pacific bluefin tuna caught off the coast of Southern California. Scientists say the radiation in the fish came from Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant that was heavily damaged by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
