Reuters:  Ruling party candidate and interim President Nicolas Maduro won Venezuela’s presidential election on Sunday with approximately 51 percent of votes, the electoral authority said.

His challenger, Henrique Capriles, took 49 percent of the ballots, the authority said, in a tighter-than-expected vote.

South Korea elects 1st female president BBC: South Korea’s electoral commission says former dictator’s daughter Park Geun-hye is the winner in the country’s presidential election. Though votes are still being counted, liberal candidate Moon-Jae has conceded. Park, the daughter of former military leader Park Chung-hee, will make history as South Korea’s 1st female president. South Korea elects 1st female president

BBC: South Korea’s electoral commission says former dictator’s daughter Park Geun-hye is the winner in the country’s presidential election. Though votes are still being counted, liberal candidate Moon-Jae has conceded.

Park, the daughter of former military leader Park Chung-hee, will make history as South Korea’s 1st female president.

Obama wins Florida, tops Romney 332 to 206 in electoral votes

Barack Obama has been declared the winner in Florida, topping Mitt Romney in the final electoral vote tally 332 to 206, AP reports.

Florida officials said Obama had 50% of the vote to Romney’s 49.1%, a margin of about 74,000 votes.
