Church of England vote rejects women bishops

BBC: The general synod of the Church of England has voted against appointing women as bishops. The vote arrived at the end of a day of debate between supporters and opponents, and a 12-year legislative process.

Had the move been backed, the proposed legislation would have gone through UK’s Parliament before receiving royal assent.
