Al Jazeera English: The US National Security Agency spied on civil rights icon Martin Luther King, boxer Muhammad Ali, journalists, politicians and leading Vietnam war critics, newly declassified documents show.
The spying program which ran for 6 years was called ‘Minaret’ and had been exposed in the 1970s but its targets had been kept secret until now.
