US, Russia strike deal on Syria’s chemical weapons
NBC News:The US and Russia struck a deal on Saturday over Syria’s chemical weapons after days of negotiations.
According to the deal, Syria will allow its stockpile of chemical weapons to be destroyed or removed by next year. Syria must also provide a ‘comprehensive listing’ of its stockpile and allow UN inspectors to start working by November at the latest.
“There can be no games,” US Secretary of State Kerry said of the deal which he negotiated in Geneva with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.
