Twitter hit by ‘sophisticated’ security attack
The company said that as many as 250,000 accounts and passwords may have been compromised.
In a blog post, the company says it detected “unusual access patterns” that led it to discovered “unauthorized” attempts to access user’s data, the Verge reported.
News of the Twitter breach came as both the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times revealed this week that they had been hacked. In both those cases, the newspapers identified hackers from China as the likely culprits.
