Algerian special forces reportedly free hostages at gas plant
AP: Algerian special forces launched a rescue operation at a natural gas plant in the Sahara Desert and reportedly freed foreign hostages held by al-Qaida-linked militants.
The death toll in the operation is unclear, and estimates varied wildly from four to dozens.
