Report on Benghazi attack cites failures within State Department
NBC News: An independent panel’s report on the Sept. 11 attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, released Tuesday, places blame on the US State Department for the failure of the consulate to defend itself.
The report specifically blames ‘systemic failures and leadership and management deficiencies within two bureaus of the State Department’ for the lack of sound security. Four Americans were killed in the attack, including US Ambassador Chris Stevens.
