McDonald’s restaurants across US to get calorie counts
AP: McDonald’s menus across the United States will soon include the number of calories in the chain’s burgers and fries. The chain is announcing that it will post calorie information on restaurant and drive-thru menus starting Monday.
President of McDonald’s USA Jan Fields says the company wants to do this voluntarily. A regulation will require major chains to post such information as early as next year.
The calorie counts are already available in cities such as New York. Fields says the information hasn’t changed what customers order.
