91,000-acre fire nearing Idaho resort town
Reuters: A 91,000 acre fire in Idaho known as the Trinity Ridge Fire is coming dangerously close to Featherville. The popular summer resort town is at the foot of the Trinity Mountains.
About 30 residents of Featherville have refused to evacuate, even as the fire closed in from three directions on the town.
“Fire crews prepared to defend hundreds of homes in Featherville, where second homes and rental cabins cause the summer population to swell to roughly 1,000, as well as structures in the nearby community of Pine.”
