Dallas County, Texas, declares West Nile state of emergency
Dallas Morning News: Dallas County, Texas, declared a public health emergency, and County Judge Clay Jenkins asked area officials to file a local disaster declaration with the state because of the West Nile virus epidemic.
The county plans to seek regional cooperation to help limit the spread of the virus, which has claimed nine lives and infected 175 people in the county.
