NCAA hands out severe punishment for Penn State
USA Today: Penn State has been fined an unprecedented $60 million, given a bowl ban and scholarship reductions and saw victories from 14 seasons wiped from the records books in a stunning series of penalties announced by the NCAA.
NCAA President Mark Emmert made the announcement of the penalties Monday morning. He called the case of school’s handling of the sex abuse scandal involving former football assistant Jerry Sandusky ‘unprecedented.’
