Councilman’s plan to tax Coachella music festival on hold
NBCLA: A California city councilman’s plan to tax the popular Coachella music festival was suspended after festival promoters threatened to leave the city of Indio, Calif.
The 5-to-10 percent admission would have amounted to $36 per ticket, a cost organizers said they would not pass on to ticket-buyers. Coachella could have lost $4 million to $6 million under the tax.
